Fine Chinese dragon seal, 19th century

A very fine Chinese soapstone dragon seal, the dragon emerging from wreaths of smoke, intently gazing at the pearl of wisdom. The base has a beautifully executed seal engraving. I am unsure of the origin of the stone or its correct name but it is semi transparent and shows well its internal composition. My photographs show the seal larger than life, which seems to coarsen its appearance somewhat, it is a high quality object, genuine in all respects and a delight to handle. 19th century.

2.1/8 inches (5.4 cm) high.
